What Can You Expect from SIMBA 10Gbps Broadband?

SIMBA 10Gbps Broadband is based on XGSPON technology which provides for symmetrical upload and download speeds of up to 10Gbps. You will however, more likely experience a Typical Maximum Local Download Speed of 6.5Gbps to 8.1Gbps*.

This typical local download speed range is the general speed you will likely experience using a direct wired LAN connection to the ONU. To achieve these speeds, it's essential to use a CAT 6 cable (or better) and a computer capable of supporting a 10Gbps Ethernet port.
SIMBA does not shape or otherwise selectively throttle bandwidth on our connections, except for non-payment situations.

  • Operating System: Modern systems like Windows 10 (with updates) and macOS Monterey or later are ideal.
  • Processor and RAM: A powerful CPU and at least 16GB RAM ensure smooth handling of heavy data transfers.

Optimising Your Setup

  • Reposition your router: Place it centrally, away from walls, reflective surfaces, and electronic devices.
  • Minimise interference: Keep the router away from devices that may disrupt the signal.
  • Upgrade your router: Consider a Wi-Fi 6 or Wi-Fi 7 router for enhanced range and performance.
  • Change your Wi-Fi channel: Avoid congested channels to improve connectivity.
